Today, which building commissions are being dealt with using mostly robots? DM.TD Robot productions is found above all in the areas of prefabricating and fitting standardised elements. Timber construction here offers a good example and in fact has always been a step ahead in the technical sense. It was here that CNC machines were first integrated in the work process. But there are also examples of entire buildings that were 3D-printed in concrete: Only recently the first 3D-printed metal bridge was opened in Amsterdam. Robots are used to put reinforcing steel in position, as one can clearly see in the examples from Gramazio Kohler. To be sure, these examples are pioneering projects but are already in use in industry. Big construction firms are changing their construction processes to make room for automated robot-based processes.
