PNM Resources reached its 2025 emissions reduction goal early afterthe closure of the 847-MW, coal-fired San Juan Generating Stationat the end of September, while the company’s merger with Avangridremains at the state Supreme Court, executives said Nov. 4.San Juan Unit 1 was retired June 30, while Unit 4 was retired Sept.30. PNM’s interim target was to reduce CO2 emission from generationby 60 by 2025 and reached that target ahead of schedule, as well assignificant reductions in NOX and SO2, PNM Resources Chairman andCEO Pat Vincent-Collawn said during the company’s third quarter 2022earnings call.
