A new optical single-channel security system using 3D-logistic map biometric keys for multiple color images is presented. In encryption process, each palm image channel is normalized, and phase encoded to produce a biometric key (BK). A chaotic random phase mask (CRM) is used to modulate BK to construct a chaotic biometric key (CBK). Each channel of N original color images is normalized, and phase encoded. A CBK is used to modulate the coded channel and then added separately. The sum of the resulting R, G and B channels produces a single channel image, which is Fresnel transformed to obtain a cipher image. In decryption process, the cipher image is inverse Fresnel transformed. The resulting image, individual key, and CRK of R, G, and B are added individually to retrieve the corresponding color channels. BK as a single decryption key, the parameters of the 3D logistic map in CBK as highly sensitive decryption keys, and individual keys as asymmetric keys make the system robust to potential attacks. The proposed security system can be carried out with a simple hybrid opto-electronic system. Numerical simulations have been executed to validate the security and viability of the scheme.
