In the coming months NWOA will add a new Position Statement to the ones already posted on the website at www.nationalwoodlands.com/issues/ As the NWOA Board of Directors works to craft the newest position statement many sources are being accessed and analyzed in order to capture all of the relevant science including both ecological and economic aspects of the subject. This is not a simple task because these sciences are in their infancy, the sources of expertise are constantly debating the research, and the various markets and economic forces around carbon trading are in flux. In any case, the position statement will have a level of bias, bias in favor of the members and stakeholders we serve, family forest landowners. But once NWOA establishes the position, it will be a part of our mission and message to those whom we support and the various authorities that exist in all levels of government. By the way, don't be afraid of asking us, or telling us what you think about the carbon issue.
