Newly qualified pharmacists may find this hard to believe but there was a time, not so long ago, when mobile phones were used for calling people and playing games that involved a 2D snake, films were watched on a VHS player, and we treated almost all patients with a venous thromboembolism (VTE) with warfarin. As it is a drug that requires regular monitoring and considerable patient education, warfarin presented an opportunity for us, as pharmacists, to start developing pharmacy clinics.
