With the improvement of economy in China, the animal husbandry has ushered in rapid growth, especially in Western China. The vigorous development of animal husbandry has directly promoted the regional economic growth. This paper conducts a detailed analysis and research on the role of livestock production and development in environmental protection, which provides a necessary support to local livestock breeding, ensures the current needs of healthy and stable development of livestock, and maintains the balance of natural environment, thereby realizing the ideal of harmonious development between livestock and environment based on the scientific guidance.
