Average daily temperatures increased by at least 1.5 degrees Fahrenheit in the Northeast and Central US on July 3, raising peakload demand by up to 14.83 and supporting Renewable Capture Prices in July 5 trading. Overall wind generation rose by 66.92, or 66.65 GWh, in the Southwest Power Pool, pushing on-peak wind penetration in the electricity mix up by more than 5 percentage points. Nevertheless, the North and South Hub wind capture prices rose to around $31.25/MWh as the average daily temperature neared 80 F and as peakload demand increased to 43.78 GW.
