Production of fertilizer nutrients registered mixed growth during May 2020 over May 2019.Production of N at 1.171 million metric tonnes(MMT)increased by 7.4 during the period.However,production of P2O5 at 0.383 MMT registered decline by 5.4 during May 2020 over May 2019.Among the major fertilizer products,production of urea increased by 10.4,SSP by 24.6 and NP/NPK complex fertilizers by 3.1 during the period.Whereas,production of DAP reduced by 19.6,during May 2020 over May 2019.Capacity utilization of N increased from 91.3 during May 2019 to 98.1 during May 2020.However,capacity utilization of P2O5 declined from 68 to 64.4 during the same period.Production of N surpassed the target by 13.3 thousand tonnes during May 2020,whereas,P2O5 fell short from the target in the same month by 33.0 thousand tonnes.
