Wirtgen Group machines are used all over the world for almost all phases of roadbuilding: processing, mixing, paving, compaction, and rehabilitation. The company's diversified machines allows Wirtgen to offer customers a production system portfolio. One current project is the reconstruction of the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Road (AKR) in Nigeria. The country attaches great importance to the use of environmentally friendly technologies in infrastructure development programmes. The construction company doing the work has deployed some 75 Wirtgen Group machines from the environmentally friendly cold milling, recycling and mixing plants to soil stabilisers, slipform pavers, asphalt pavers, mobile feeders, rollers and impact crushers. These individual machines and systems work in unison and can be networked with one another to help users with the management of construction site procedures and achieve a more efficient, safer, and more sustainable road construction process chain.
