Amorphous nickel phosphorus (NiP) is regarded as one of the most promising efficient catalysts for oxygen evolution reaction (OER). Here, amorphous NiP quantum dots with a diameter of 2.7 nm were successfully prepared by metal-Fe/N/C support interaction. Owing to the high specific surface areas, the abundant defects caused by N-doping, and the charge transfer between Fe single atoms and NiP, amorphous NiP quantum dots achieve a low overpotential of 242 mV at 10 mA cm(-2). This work provides an efficient way to construct amorphous quantum dots by strong metal-support interaction.
