1.On 17 August, the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities approved an annualised revenue increase of $45.5 million for American Water, with a flat return on equity of 9.6. American also had a busy month on the acquisitions front, completing deals in New Jersey and Missouri for a total of $33 million, and agreeing to acquire nearly 4,000 customer connections in West Virginia from Jefferson Utilities for $30 million. 2.The acquisition of UK-based professional services firm RPS Group will bring Canadian consulting engineer WSP Global's pro forma global water revenues to Can$i billion (US$777 million) when it completes later this year. 3.SeaChange Technologies, which has a patented water treatment technology to eliminate toxic sludge from industrial wastewater streams, was among seven companies to be selected for The Heritage Group's 2022 hard tech accelerator programme this month.
