Mechanical tube imports totaled 76,048 tons in May. Licenses for June are down significantly to 54,334 tons. The July forecast, with 10 of 20 days tallied, indicates a return to growth at 72,242 tons. The top mechanical tube import item in May was CARBON, WELDED, SQUARE OR RECT., WALL LESS THAN 0.156"” with 19,673 tons. The price was $1,455 /ton, an increase of $23/ton compared to April and $379/ton since January.
