摘要

Space division multiplexing (SDM) based on multi-core fiber (MCF) is a promising solution for the expansion of optical network transmission capacity in elastic optical networks (EONs). However, the problem of inter-core crosstalk is especially prominent. The scheme of minimizing lightpath crosstalk leads to the increase of re-sources occupied by lightpaths, which will have a greater crosstalk effect on the following requests. In this paper, we propose a resource-oriented routing, modulation format, core, and spectrum assignment (RMCSA) scheme with low crosstalk effect (Low-netwXT) to accommodate more requests. From a new perspective of spectrum resources, we first abstract their crosstalk effect and construct an auxiliary graph of the network-wide crosstalk effect. Then, the relationship between the crosstalk effect and the successful establishment of lightpaths is revealed. Based on it, the resource-aware routing and modulation cooperative selection method is adopted to minimize the crosstalk effect. Next, the core and spectrum resources with the least degree of crosstalk-effect fluctuation are allocated for lightpaths to balance the crosstalk effect. Thus, the RMCSA problem is solved by the realization of crosstalk-effect minimization and balance in MCF-based EONs. It is observed from simulation results that the proposed scheme can get a lower blocking probability compared with the benchmark schemes.
