Evonik (Essen, Germany) VESTAKEEP PEEK plastic gears are now in series production for a mass-balance transmission. The gears feature sufficient tribological properties and durability for applications which ordinarily required metal gears. The company states that this is the first use of plastic in this application and that these gears can withstand oil temperatures of 130℃ (266℉).
