Vehicle emissions rules proposed by US federal regulators last month are coming under fi re from critics who say the regulations give anunfair preference to electric vehicles (EVs). At issue are US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) tailpipe emissions standards released in April for model years 2027 and up,which aim to see EVs account for roughly 67 of new passenger car sales by 2032. The rules are now undergoing public comment and review. In a House of Representatives Oversight Committee hearing onWednesday, Republican lawmakers and certain stakeholder groups said the regulations should be more technology-neutral.
