Creation of new Al-Ce alloys addresses rare earth element issue

The US Department of Energy's (DOE) Advanced Materials Manufacturing Technologies Office and Critical Materials Institute (CMI) are addressing the shortage of domestic rare earth elements through the creation of new aluminiumcerium-based (Al-Ce) alloys. Identifying new ways to use cerium will increase market demand for abundant REEs and create more value from domestic rareearth mining operations - and boost the supply of innovative materials to US manufacturers.
