Charging infrastructure continues to be the largest impedimentto accelerating zero-emission medium- and heavy-duty vehicledeployment, truck manufacturers said June 23 as they also pushedfor policies to aid the cost competitiveness of zero-emission fleets,compared with conventional trucks and buses.Last year’s global climate talks in Glasgow spurred an internationalmemorandum of understanding to work toward zero-emissionsvehicles making up all new medium- and heavy-duty truck and bussales by 2040, with an interim goal of 30 sales by 2030. Sixteencountries, including Canada and the UK, as well as more than 50companies have signed on to the global MOU.
