With UK companies facing multiple challenges (such as labour shortages, disrupted supply chains and the lingering impacts of COVID-19 and Brexit), many are looking to the latest robotic technologies to help them stay one step ahead. Yet, while the benefits of robots have been proven in thousands of applications, taking the first steps in introducing them to a factory or warehouse floor can be a daunting prospect. This doesn't have to be the case. When it comes to choosing both a robot and the right supplier, the process can be divided into four key steps. First, assess if you need a robot. It may be that the answer to your challenges lies in simply rethinking the way you do things; for example, looking at ways that workers could be utilised more efficiently or reorganising production or distribution lines so that key stages are more closely integrated.
