Low-sulphur fuel grade petroleum coke prices have jumped in China since late last month on rising sulphur content in domestic coke output and dim forecasts for upcoming seaborne supply. China-delivered low-sulphur coke prices began to rise in late December as availability waned on numerous factors, with the 3pc sulphur cfr China assessment gaining $51/t since 22 Decem- ber to reach $241/t on 12 January and the <2pc cfr China spec increasing by $45/t to $300/t in the same period.
