The UK government presented a new energy strategy on Thursday that assigns important roles to nuclear power, offshore wind and hydrogen. A key goal is to produce at least 95 of the UK's electricity from low-carbon sources — including nuclear — by 2030 and reduce dependence on imported fossil fuels, including oil and gas from Russia.
