Mr Muller, the automotive industry is undergoing a comprehensive transformation process towards e-mobility. This means that the foundry industry will also be subject to major structural change in the coming years. How is DGS preparing itself for this development, especially since its customer base essentially comes from the automotive industry? CEO Andreas Muller: DGS is in the fortunate position that we are hardly affected by the discontinuation of the typical ‘combustion engine powertrain components’. In recent years, our sales have focused on structural casting, steering and cockpit components. These component segments are also used in electric vehicles. The coming decline in the segment of drive components for internal combustion engines will therefore not affect us so strongly in terms of sales.
