The equipment that is used on construction sites around the world is increasingly connected; it is no longer a case of equipment working by itself and contractors and operators having to guess how productive it has been, how many hours of the day it has worked or stood idle. This is also the case within the crushing and screening sector. "Customers' focus is increasingly shifting away from individual machine applications and more towards holistic production systems. When it comes to controlling and monitoring these production systems, digitalisation plays a decisive role," says Thomas Kiihnle, head of product management at Kleemann. "Operators want to be aware of the 'heartbeat 'of their production facilities at all times; they want to know whether their production is profitable and how they can increase profitability." Kiihnle says that it was for this reason that the company developed the digital solution Spective Connect - this extension to its digital operating concept means that all relevant process information and reporting is now displayed on a smartphone, meaning no one has to leave the feeding device. It is currently available as an option for the jaw crushing plant Mobicat MC 110(ⅰ) Evo2 and the new cone crushing plant Mobicone MCO 90 (ⅰ) Evo2, with plans for other machines to be equipped or retrofitted.
