GS Caltex JV Completes Construction On New Mixed Feed Cracker at Yeosu

Yeosu—GS Caltex, a 50-50 joint venture of GS Energy and Chevron Corp., has completed construction and started up a new mixed feed cracker in Yeosu, South Korea, said Yonhap News Agency citing the company. The approximately $2-billion cracker, based on KBR's Score technology, has the capacity to produce 700,000 t/y of ethylene, 500,000 t/y of polyethylene and 410,000 t/y of propylene (PCN, 9 July 2018, p 2). It can use naphtha, liquefied petroleum gas and refinery off-gases as feedstocks.
