In this report, we deal with a shortest path-based routing, termed as an SP-routing, for a longer lifetime on a wireless sensor network WSN. A WSN is composed of one base station BS and many sensor nodes. At first, we present an SP-routing. About the last death node time, the SP-routing shows its superiority. There collected data often drops due to energy depletion. To avoid it, we define a lower energy vertex. Then the first death node time of the SP-routing is also improved. Besides, we show that topology control is not necessary for a longer lifetime. All of them are shown through simulation experiments.
