STUDY ON CRITICAL FACTORS IN GRAPHIC DESIGN BASED ON THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF FRIENDLY ENVIRONMENT

Pollution problems produced by waste of paper products and printed matters in daily life could be controlled by various regulations and self-regulation among industries. In terms of the source of design and education, the necessity of green environmental protection should be emphasised in order to design green graphic design products with less impact on the environment. For this reason, alternative materials should be used in the beginning of product design and produced with low-pollution process to avoid wasting abundant resources due to excessive design and reducing toxic substance which could harm the environment and human body in the production and treatment process. Aiming at people in Fujian Province as the questionnaire objects, 420 copies are distributed for this study, and 342 valid copies are retrieved, with a retrieval rate of 81. The research results reveal that: (1) logic and concept is the most emphasised dimension in the graphic design for the sustainable development of friendly environment, and (2) top five indicators, among 18, are ordered reduction design, regeneration channel, environmental certification, different material match, and method appropriateness. According to the results to propose conclusions, it is expected to induct designers' attitude tendency towards the graphic design for the sustainable development of friendly environment and the principles for the reference of design and education.
