CANADIAN TRAINING provider CAE has installed the first two Medallion MR e-Series visual display systems for the UK Royal Air Force's (RAF's) Typhoon Future Synthetic Training (TFST) programme. Site acceptance testing is scheduled over the coming months ahead of an expected ready-for-training certification later in 2022, detailed a CAE statement released towards the end of last year. In total, Typhoon prime BAE Systems contracted CAE to provide ten Medallion MR e-Series visual display systems that BAE Systems will integrate into the Typhoon full-mission simulators for the RAF. Of these, six of the CAE Medallion MR e-Series visual display systems will go to RAF Coningsby and four to RAF Lossiemouth, which are the RAF's two main Typhoon operating bases. "We look forward to our e-Series visual display systems supporting the synthetic training capability that BAE Systems is delivering to the Royal Air Force," said Marc-Olivier Sabourin, vice-president and general manager, Defence and Security International, CAE.
