摘要

Achievement of essential nursing competencies is facilitated by a culture of learning in which assessment is designed as a developmental process co-created by faculty and students, with an open dialogue and an emphasis on coaching rather than judgment. In the assessment for learning, three key sources of feedback-instructor, peer, and self-are triangulated to provide critical information the student needs for continuous improvement and, ultimately, performance of core competencies at a level appropriate for summative assessment. Developing a deeper understanding of peer-topeer feedback processes will prepare students to develop metacognitive approaches to learning and facilitate the achievement of core competencies while practicing peerto-peer feedback skills necessary for nursing practice. Nurse educators can support assessment for learning and help students triangulate multiple sources of feedback for growth by incorporating peer review assignments in academic experiences and using learning technologies to facilitate the learning process.
