The upward march continues. According to the US Federal Reserve, industrial production increased 5.4 in June but remained 10.9 below the prepandemic level. For the quarter, the annual rate of decline was 42.9 which was the largest quarterly decline since the end of WWII. Manufacturing output improved as well with a gain of 7.2 led by a 105.0 improvement in motor vehicles and parts.
