摘要

Fe-Co-Ni combinatorial materials chips (CMC) covering full range of the ternary compositions are prepared by ion beam deposition. High-throughput mapping of magnetic hysteresis loops is performed using a customized magneto-optical Kerr effect equipment (MOKE). Microbeam X-ray fluorescence (mu-XRF) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) are employed to conduct composition and phase mapping. Thus, the relationship of composition structure-magnetic properties is established rapidly. It is shown that type of magnetism is a strong function of both composition and crystalline structure. In addition, this work demonstrates that the combinatorial chip technique, combined with high-throughput multi-parameter material characterization, provides a panoramic view of composition-structure-magnetic properties relationship, a powerful way for rapid material screening.
