TP Bennett has completed a 12-storey office scheme at 11 12 Wellington Place in the heart of Leeds. Achieving a NABERS design-reviewed target rating of five stars, EPC A, Fitwel two stars and BREEAM Outstanding, it is one of the UK's most sustainable office developments. Wates was the main contractor on the project handed over to developer and asset manager MEPC. Others to work on the scheme included Gardiner Theobald and Arup. The buildings provide 228,986ft2 of office space across two bronze-coloured structures designed to reflect the rich industrial and railway heritage of the site. A glazed link brings the two buildings together from the fourth level and above. Andrew Leaver, director at TP Bennett, said: "We have a responsibility to design buildings that not only meet the needs of our clients but also contribute to a sustainable future. We have not only set a new benchmark for sustainable development in Yorkshire, but also set an exceptional example for the rest of the country."
