Yield and economics of chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) to phosphorus and liquid bio-fertilizers

A field study was conducted during rabi season of 2017-18 and 2018-19 at Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramodaya Vishwavidyalaya, Chitrakoot, Satna (M.P.) to evaluate the effect of phosphorus and liquid bio-fertilizers on productivity of chickpea. Application of 40 kg P_2O_5/ha with liquid bio-fertilizer PSB-I or PSB-II (N K) recorded significantly higher growth parameters viz., dry weight/plant, branches/plant and yield attributes viz., pods/plant, seeds/plant and 1000-seed weight. Seed yield (1599 kg/ha), stover yield (3542 kg/ha), gross returns (I.Rs 82370/ha), net returns (I.Rs 62530/ha) and benefit: cost ratio (4.00) were obtained significantly superior under inoculation of PSB II + 40 kg P_2O_5/ha. Inoculation of PSB II + 40 kg P_2O_5 /ha (N K)produced 469 kg/ha (41.50) higher seed yield and I.Rs 19615/ha (45.70) more net returns over control, respectively.
