Refneries in the EU-15 and Norway processed less crude in October than in the same month last year, according to Euroil-stock, even though the impact of the strikes in France has not been included in the data. This marks the frst month since March 2021 in which refn-ery rates were lower year on year. They came to 9.24mn b/d, compared with 9.29mn b/d a year ago. The actual rates were reported at a fve-month low, having more or less given back the gains they made over the summer. This pattern is standard and refects seasonal clusters of maintenance shutdowns in the spring and the autumn.
