UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres urged the world to stand up to the challenge of climate change on Thursday, as agreements on key issues remained elusive at the COP27 conference in Egypt. "I am here to appeal to all parties to rise to this moment and to the greatest challenge facing humanity. The world is watching and has a simple message: stand and deliver," he told the gathering. With the conference scheduled to end on Friday, Guterres told reporters that it was "crunch time"for the negotiations in Egypt and that the participating countries needed to overcome their differences.
