VANCOUVER-based company ReconAfrica's frontier acreage onshore Namibia has the potential to hold more than 1.4 trillion cubic feet of gas and almost 1 billion barrels of oil, according to a respected reservoir consultancy, although the chance of finding commercial hydrocarbons is considered very low. The independent assessment is based on information gleaned from two stratigraphic wells drilled in Petroleum Exploration Licence (PEL) 73 in northeast Namibia's Kavango basin, along with data from 450 kilometres of 2D seismic shot in the tract.
