Harbor Wholesale has acquired Halfon Candy Company, adding Halfon's range of seasonal and specialty candy to its product offering. Seattle-based Halfon Candy was founded in 1946 by Jim Halfon and has been owned by his daughter and son-in-law Alan Scharhon since 1994. Scharhon will remain involved in the company to ensure a smooth transition. Harbor Wholesale, a subsidiary of Harbor Foods, distributes local and national products to more than 6,000 west coast convenience stores, grocers and quick-service restaurants. The company is headquartered in Lacey, Washington, and operates distribution centers throughout the western region.
