Dutch drop plan for new FLNG import terminal

DUTCH gas grid operator Gasunie is exploring options to expand liquefied natural gas import capacity at two sites in the northern Netherlands after a recent study determined that a new floating LNG terminal in the southern port of Terneuzen would not be feasible. Exploring new LNG terminal construction at Eemshaven and the Gate terminal in Rotterdam is part of a broader package of proposed measures to increase LNG import capacity in the Netherlands as Gasunie looks to replace Russian gas imports curtailed after the invasion of Ukraine.
