As President Joe Biden signed new wind energy tax incentives intolaw, the Department of Energy Aug. 16 released new data showing thatonshore wind capacity growth in 2021 fell behind 2020 but was stillstrong, with developers adding more than 13 gigawatts of new turbinecapacity.DOE’s data also show that the development pipeline for the stillnascentoffshore wind industry grew by 14 in 2021, with 40 GW now invarious stages of development, including two fully operational projectstotaling 42 megawatts.
