Wates rose 13 places to the top of the contractors' league table in March by securing ￡418m-worth of contracts from a total of 14 projects, including two major housing deals. Data gathered by construction intelligence provider Glenigan shows that two housing schemes in Wembley for client Brent Council made up almost half of Wates' total. The larger was a ￡100m deal to build 304 homes in Cecil Road, while the second, worth ￡91.2m, was on the authority's 304-apartment Ujima House scheme.
