February imports were 39,303 tons which was even lower than the low level licence total from last month. March licenses are double, up to 89,281 tons as import levels return to an inconsistent pattern. Licenses for 12 of 21 business days in April show a forecast of 59,792 tons. The highest volume import item for the month of January 2022 was ERW carbon, not over 4 ?", black, PE with 12,365 tons. The price was $1,480/ton; which is up $131/ton for the month. This volume is half when compared to the previous month in this category.
