Two new species of the genus Comibaena Hübner, 1823 (Lepidoptera: Geometridae) from China

The genus Comibaena Hübner, 1823, a member of the tribe Comibaenini, was originally established by Hübner (1823) on the basis of Geometra bajularia Denis Schiffermüller, 1775 from Austria. Comibaena is a large genus, which contains 66 species (Scoble 1999; Han et al. 2012; Hausmann et al. 2014), widely distributed in the Oriental, Palaearctic and Australasian regions. Han et al. (2012) provided the descriptions and diagnoses of the genera, and assigned species into four species groups based on wing pattern and genitalia, in their review of the Comibaenini of China. The combination of the widely bifurcate vinculum and the bifid uncus in the male genitalia, forewing usually having a tornal patch and hind wing possessing an apical patch, as well as the presence of a frenulum, usually distinguish Comibaena from other seven genera in the tribe Comibaenini.
