Capital Product Partners profit boosted by boxship sales

WINDFALL profits on containership sales as well as a growing fleet of liquefied natural gas carriers have underpinned a sharp rise in third-quarter earnings for Capital Product Partners. The US-listed partnership reported revenue of $71.9m, a 67 increase compared with the year-earlier period. Net income for the three-months ending September 30 was $58.7m, including a net gain of $47.3m made on two vessel sales, according to a statement.
