摘要

Vapour compressor refrigerator system using R12 as a refrigerant has become a greater environmental impact by causing Ozone layer Depletion and global warming. To overcome this problem R134a has been used as an alternate refrigerant. The novelty of this work is done by mixing TiO_2 gas with R134a refrigerant and to investigate the performance of vapour compression refrigeration system, without any reconstruction of the system. Performance of the system has evaluated using time-cooling rate test and co efficient of performance test. The result shows that R134a-TiO_2 refrigerant yields a better performance when compare to R134a. The R134a-TiO2 refrigerant works normally and safely in the refrigeration system and 8.1 of less energy when compare with R134a. From the test results it is observed that R134a-TiO_2 refrigerant can be more energy efficient than R134a.
