The drive toward zero net carbon buildings has focused attention on high-performance building enclosures. Even minimally code-performing buildings increasingly must demonstrate compliance with air tightness standards. There are a wide range of products and assemblies that architects can choose from to meet performance goals. However, because a complete building is made up of many components and assemblies, they must all work together to maintain the continuity of the thermal, air and water (both liquid and vapor) control layers across myriad material and geometric transitions comprising the enclosure.
