US-based electrolyser maker Cummins has formed a joint venture with Chinese state-owned oil giant Sjnopec - to be known as Cummins Enze - which aims to build a 1 gigawatt electrolyser factory in southern China. The $47 million plant in Foshan, Guangdong province, will have an initial annual production capacity of 500 megawatts upon completion in 2023, which is due to be gradually increased to reach 1GW by 2028.
