During the recent Covid crisis, I reflected on how fortunate and privileged I am to be able to enjoy working with clay. When the first lockdown took place in spring 2020, I was approached with a proposal to put together a book about raku practices. I decided that I did not want to write a 'how to', as a key focus was to investigate what we make and why.
