House Republicans are seeking detailed information from EPA on how it plans to allocate billions of dollars from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law for replacing lead service lines (LSL), cleaning up Superfund sites and other issues, seeking to conduct oversight of the spending before the agency allocates the funds for fiscal years 2022 and 2023. "As EPA looks to allocate the remaining $8.6 billion available for Fiscal Year (FY) 2022 and the $11.2 billion available for FY 2023, our goal is to ensure that taxpayer funds are spent responsibly and that effective measures are in place to prevent waste, fraud, and abuse," Reps. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA), chair of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, and Bill Johnson (R-OH), chair of the environment subcommittee, wrote in an April 13 letter to EPA Administrator Michael Regan.
