Recession concerns prevailing

After reaching almost $8,100 /t mid-month, LME 3M copper prices fell towards their mid-yearlows during the second half of September, ending the month almost 30 below their Aprilpeak. This was driven by the same (interrelated) factors which have been weighing on theglobal economic outlook over the past six months - high inflation, tighter monetary conditions,the war in Ukraine, gas shortages in Europe and the risk of recession.
