India’s receipts of seaborne coal contracted for a second consecutive year as the country’s recovery in coal demand was ofset by higher domestic output. Imports in December posted their largest annual decline since February, taking overall receipts in 2021 to 132.94mn t, down by 10pc or 15.45mn t from a year earlier, according to data from shipbroker Interocean.
