摘要

Rob MacDougall, Director of Community Safety and Chief Fire Officer at Oxfordshire County Council, has recently been appointed NFCC People Programme Executive, following the departure of Ann Millington after 11 years in post (see FIRE July/August 2022). As People Programme Executive, Rob will be defining the next phase of work for the People Programme, providing a direction of travel for the sector over the next few years. FIRE caught up with Rob as he was just settling into the role - the NFCC as keen as the inspectorate to keep the focus on people and not lose any of the momentum set up after the launch of the hub of resources in the autumn. FIRE: Ann Millington launched the suite of resources promised in the Fire and Rescue People Strategy [in the form of easily accessible hubs, toolkits and portals showcasing best practice supporting fire and rescue services]. So, what's Rob going to bring to the party? And how are you going to take it forward, given the amount of activity that's recently been launched? Where does it go from here? RM: "I think that's the big question that I've been asking myself before considering putting myself forward for the role. What can I add to it? What can I bring while recognising that I've got a very different background?
