Place of research in management choices in the face of forest crises

© AgroParisTech, 2023.Climate changes incite forest owners and managers to think about management practices to be adopted to maintain profitable, durable and multi-functional forests. The importance of scientific expertise in the implementation of these practices is acknowledged by both managers and researchers. However, the link between research and management is still mostly based on knowledge transfer from research toward management. This situation does not favour robust links between these stakeholders, despite the stronger and stronger need for co-construction of shared knowledge to face silvicultural challenges.
